Academy Awards, YouTube Tuesday…

Well I for one thoroughly enjoyed the Academy Awards…My dad emailed that he thought they were a real snoozefest, but admittedly my pirate father is not exactly the telecast’s target demographic. Plus I just love Steve Martin. He could meditate onstage for 3 hours and I would think it was hilarious. So there. ;)

Onto YouTube Tuesday: a lounge-y cover of Public Enemy’s “Burn Hollywood Burn” off their classic album Fear of a Black Planet…Thought it was mildly appropriate 2 days after the Oscars… Hope you like it!  :)

YouTube Tuesday! “Traveling Moon”

The full moon inspired me to take you on a little trip down memory lane this week…My childhood spent sailing around the world inspired one of the songs on my new album, called “Traveling Moon”…So I dug up some old photos and a little footage from the studio and voila! I speak French! Just kidding.  But I did make a video.  :)

The Babies are Born!

Got my little babies on Friday…Ain’t they sweet? Going to be going to their new homes March 16th…It’s incredible. So much work all packed into a small plastic square with a circle inside. It feels good in my hands.

Here I am, covered in plastic!

Here I am, covered in plastic!

Went out and celebrated in the rain that night. Met with friends on a covered porch and listened to the sounds.  Good things. (Yes, I love Martha Stewart.)

"And I love a rainy night..."

"And I love a rainy night..."

Van the Man on YouTube Tuesday!

Howdy Kids–Well, it’s been super warm and lovely in Los Angeles this past week. And for some reason, it made me nostalgic for my college in Connecticut.  I’m crazy I know. But it put me in the mood for Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic”, which always reminded me of the little seaport towns in New England…So here she blows!  ;)

In other news, I just got a call that my CDs are ready to ship!!! Yahoo!!!!  Love and kisses…

Gangsta rap made me do it…

YouTube Tuesdays is a new weekly video series I’ve started…This Tuesday, I decided to tackle the completely UNambitious task of covering T.I. and Justin Timberlake’s masterful “Dead and Gone”.  47 takes later I got something–useable.  ;) *Note:  I self-bleeped! It’s FCC and family friendly rap!  Party party party…xox
