Interviews, Easter, Patty…
Well, Easter has come and gone. Today I ate my last hard-boiled dyed egg–longtime Easter tradition–and thought about fertility and renewal and spring while eating it. Just kidding! I thought about how it needed salt.

Behold! The final egg!
Over the weekend I went to see Patty Griffin at the Wiltern. She is one of my all-time favorite singer-songwriters, and her show did not disappoint. I found myself weeping two or three times…Especially when she played a haunting, gorgeous, solo acoustic version of “Mary”…MAN she’s awesome. WOW. HOLY MOLY AWESOME. That’s about all I have to say about that….Really rad. Plus the super cool Buddy Miller opened for her and played in her backing band…Yeehaw!
Finally, to continue with this totally non-chronological blog, I just got back from a delightful interview/lunch with Mr. Jim Markunas, none other than editor-in-chief of CWG Magazine…VERY COOL. We spent 2 hours talking about everything from jazz (difficult!) to coffee (jittery!)…He despises Michael Jackson’s music and is ambivalent about the beach, and somhow I found myself loving him anyway. Well-played Jim!

I'm pretty sure I just whispered something outrageous in Jim's ear...
That’s it for now kids! I’m getting really excited about my show on the 27th…I’m also excited about my 6 week routine to get me able to do 100 pushups. Right now I think the show has a better chance of happening than the 100 pushups…But I have high hopes for both! ;)
